WE WON GOLD!

We are thrilled to announce that we have won the Gold Award for ‘Small Attraction of the Year’ at the prestigious Visit Devon Tourism Awards 2018!
We enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Highbullen Hotel, Golf and Country Club in North Devon for the awards ceremony – many thanks to them for the delicious food, fabulous atmosphere and brilliantly attentive staff.

Congratulations are also in order for Seaton Wetlands and Torre Abbey Museum, who both won a Bronze award and to our friends at Quince Honey Farm, who took home the Silver award. Thank you also to Westward Marketing for their sponsorship of our award category and to Thomas Chartres-Moore of Stephens Scown Solicitors for his incredibly entertaining and slick co-ordination of the presentation ceremony.

It was wonderful to have a well-deserved night off with the team and we are very grateful for their incredibly hard work throughout the past year. We are extremely lucky to have such enthusiastic, committed and forward-thinking staff who are ready to embrace our vision for the present and the future of our family-run business and simply could not achieve such high standards without them.

Bonfire Night Cruise

Undoubtedly, those who were lucky enough to join us for Bonfire Night this year, will agree that there are few better places to view the spectacular firework displays which surround the Exe Estuary, than from the River Exe itself. For several years now, we have been offering the opportunity to do just that, from the relaxing comfort of our modern vessels and this year was certainly better than ever.

Due to popular demand, we decided to operate both vessels for the evening and all tickets were sold-out in record time by early September. Passengers enjoyed hot pasties from Chunk of Devon, hearty organic soup from Rod & Ben’s and the odd tot of brandy or whiskey here and there to warm the cockles!

When the fireworks started, we enjoyed uninterrupted views from the unique perspective of the boat, with panoramic views from both decks – we simply didn’t know where to look next! Of course, another very special aspect of viewing the fireworks from the water are the reflections which glisten on the surface of the water and make the whole experience that much more special.

Christmas Cruises

‘Tis almost the season to be jolly and we are set to have a jolly busy one indeed! Christmas preparations are in full swing; correspondence from the North Pole reports that Santa is writing his lists and checking them twice, the elves are frantically wrapping gifts for all of the children both naughty and nice and Jake has almost finished decorating the boats with beautiful garlands and lights galore!

Our famously spectacular Sail with Santa cruises are almost all full, with spaces available only on 21st December and our Christmas Band Night, which will feature the very popular ‘Carnaby Street’ has been sold out for several weeks now. In addition, our Christmas Day Swim Cruise has only 4 spaces remaining and our Festive Specials are set to be very popular, with many of them filling up fast – I suppose we’d best hurry up and get the mince pies in the oven and the mulled wine on the stove!

We can’t wait for what promises to be a fabulous month ahead and hope that you may be able to join us at some point!
