No, all four paws must remain on the deck floor at all times. Dogs are not permitted on passenger seats or blankets.

On hot sunny days, upper steel decks can become warm. Stuart Line Cruises recommends sitting on the covered lower deck during warm weather to protect dog paws.

Is fresh water provided for dogs on the boat?

Yes, complimentary dog water bowls and fresh water are provided on board upon request from the crew.

Do dogs have to stay on leads on the boat?

A Dog Friendly Activity in Devon

Stuart Line Cruises is a pet-friendly attraction and there is no additional charge for your dog. Your four-legged furry companions are welcome on the vast majority of our cruises however, there are a few exceptions, such as those with an extended duration, without the opportunity to disembark at any point.

Devon is famously a superb place to bring your dog, whether it be for a day trip or a holiday - with miles of sandy beaches and acres of rural countryside, it’s no wonder that so many people decide to bring their dog to Devon.

Well-behaved dogs on leads cruise free of charge across our scheduled River Exe and coastal trips. To ensure a relaxed, safe experience for everyone on the water, we kindly ask four-legged guests and their owners to follow our simple guidelines.

Four Paws on the Floor

Dogs must stay on a lead with their owners throughout the trip and cannot wander freely. Please keep paws on the deck - dogs are not permitted on seats or passenger blankets.

Warm Weather & Paws

Our upper deck is crafted from steel and can become hot in direct sun. On warmer days, we strongly advise sitting on the shaded, breezy lower deck to keep paws safe and comfortable.

Trip Durations & Accidents

Consider your dog’s routine before booking - 1-hour to 1.25-hour river cruises are ideal starters. In the rare event of an accident on board, owners are responsible for cleaning it up (our crew can supply tissue).

Other dogs may be sailing too. Please keep leads short, avoid blocking narrow gangways, and ensure larger dogs do not encroach on fellow passengers’ seating areas.
