Get set for Christmas with FORCE Santa Cycle and Cruise

Every year, we work with FORCE Cancer Charity in Exeter, to provide some festive fun on land and water! We would love to share their guest blog post below for you to find out more about the event.

This year’s FORCE Cancer Charity Santa Cycle and Cruise is on Saturday November 29th. Beginning and ending at either Topsham or Exmouth, this festive two-wheeled jaunt involves a six-mile cycle along the Exe Estuary Trail and a wonderful Stuart Line Cruise on the River Exe back to the town where you started.

There are 100 places available on each route and they’re selling fast so book now to avoid disappointment at https://forcecancercharity.co.uk/santacycle/ It’s £20 for adults and £10 for children. That includes a Santa outfit, the Stuart Line Cruise, a mince pie, homemade mulled wine or a soft drink and the children will receive a treat from Santa on board the boat.

There will also be a Christmas sing-song, led by Chris Back from local band The Dockneys.

“It’s a really special event that’s fun for all the family,” said Chloe Richardson from the FORCE Fundraising Team.

“Even if you’re not cycling, why not come on down to see all our amazing Santas in Exmouth, Topsham or on the cycle path. Give them a wave and a ho-ho-ho – they’ll really appreciate your support and it may just get you into the festive spirit too!”

Cyclists will set off from Topsham Rugby Club at 9:15am (return to Topsham Quay at 12:45pm) and the there’s a 10:30am start from Exmouth Football Club (arrive back at Exmouth Docks at 1:45pm). The FORCE Santa Cycle and Cruise has raised more than £40,000, which has enabled the charity to continue supporting patients and their families as they come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.

FORCE provides free support and information to anyone affected by cancer at its Centre in Exeter and at local community hospitals in Ottery St Mary, Tiverton and Okehampton. They offer counselling, group sessions, complementary therapies, benefits advice, specialist physiotherapy and exercise guidance and other health and wellbeing support. FORCE also funds local research and buys equipment to improve patient care at the RD&E.
