Lasting roughly 3 hours these cruises include a full commentary from an ornithologist throughout the cruise on the species, habitat and behaviors of the thousands of birds on the Exe Estuary and East Devon Coast
The vessel has inside and outside seating with bar and toilets on board. Advanced booking is essential on all of these cruises as they are very popular.

A guided cruise on the River Exe departing at low tide for maximum viewing potential of the thousands of Wintering Birds. A full commentary will be given on the different species including Egrets, Herons and Avocets and also their habitats, breeding and feeding.
The vessel has an open top deck and an enclosed and heated lower deck. Toilets and disabled access is available as well as a refreshments bar selling hot and cold drinks including homemade soup and snacks.

Throughout a Bird Watching Cruise you will have a commentary on the species, habitat, feeding methods and behaviours of the birds that are visible.
Ian Waite - In the last twenty years Ian has been an enthusiastic bird watcher in the local area. He leads bird watching groups for various societies and provides commentary on Bird watching Tram Trips on the River Axe. He is a member of The Devon Bird watching and Preservation Society and the Devon Wildlife Trust and is a committee member for a local Conservation Society.

Dave Smallshire - An avid bird watcher for 45 years, with a special interest in wetland birds. David has an intimate knowledge of the Exe Estuary’s wildlife, which has been his ‘local patch’ for nearly 25 years, he does the Wetland Bird Survey counts every month on the estuary between Starcross and Dawlish Warren. His interests span all aspects of wildlife, notably dragonflies – about which he has written a highly acclaimed field guide
