Stuart Line Cruises is a family run passenger boat business based in the beautiful town of Exmouth, Devon. In the almost fifty years we’ve been operating, we have become one of THE things to do in Exmouth, and one of the “top family attractions in Devon”.
The family-run company was started by Tony Stuart, with the cry of ‘Pay on the Boat!’, over in 1968. The original vessel of Stuart Line was called the “Seacrest” and was a basic open boat running from a landing stage opposite the Clock Tower. Since then much has changed, but it is still run by the same family today – Tony’s son, Ian. The future plans are moving in the same direction with the Company now moving over to Ian’s son Jake.
The flagship vessel of the company is the “Pride of Exmouth”. We pride ourselves on being one of the most modern passenger vessels in the country with inside and outside seating (with heaters), facilities, licensed bar, and room for up to 200 people for pleasure cruises and private charters. Our second boat, the “Tudor Rose”, has the same specifications but is smaller in size.
Explore the Jurassic Coast and River Exe
Exmouth is now the Western gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage site and at the mouth of the River Exe. it is designated a RAMSAR site for its wildlife. Taking a cruise with Stuart Line Cruises is the ONLY way to get up close and personal with all the area has to offer. We also operate our boats for private charter which makes for a top venue for birthdays, discos, weddings or business trips alike. Additionally, you can gift a boat trip to your friends and family!
Locals and visitors alike are all welcome to climb aboard and explore with the help of the experienced and knowledgeable crew; we happily accept dogs too!
Stuart Line Cruises aim to ensure our guests leave with a smile and make sure we do our part for our hometown too. To mark this, we were honoured to be chosen as the 2013 “Lifetime Dedication to Business” Winners at the Exmouth Business Awards, and nominated in the Hospitality & Leisure Category. These stand alongside our nomination in the previous year for the Group Travel Awards and Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor!
Our other accolades include in 2014 being awarded the Top Tourism Attraction Award at the Exmouth Business Awards; our third Excellence Certificate by Trip Advisor; the Gold Award in the Devon Tourism Awards for Small Visitor Attraction; and nominations for best Coach Friendly Attraction at the National Coach Tourism Awards and best Customer Service at the Exmouth Business Awards.
In 2015 we were awarded a Bronze in the South West Excellence Awards, and nominated for South West Family Business of the Year!
So the only question left is, “When will we see you?!”
